Dr. Abu-Odeh is a Research Scientist and the Manager of the Infrastructure Protection Program at TTI. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. Dr. Abu-Odeh has over 20 years of experience in analyzing, designing and testing structures under impact loads with emphasis on roadside safety hardware and protective structures. Dr. Abu-Odeh has extensive experience and intimate knowledge in using large scale nonlinear finite elements for analyzing structures under impact. He has served as principal investigator or co-principle investigator on numerous studies sponsored by federal, states, private and international entities. Dr. Abu-Odeh has witnessed nearly 1,000 live crash tests over his career at TTI. He has been actively participating in several TRB and IRF committees and meetings. Dr. Abu-Odeh is the Co-Chair of the IRF Roadside Safety Features subcommittee.
